It was great to be back at school today with all our staff and students. A big welcome to the new students and their families. You will love your time at our school. 

I have attached a photo of Akesa who joined me for lunch on the last day of term after managing to receive 100 sunshines in the first term.

She is such a wonderful May Road student who values herself, values her learning and respects all others. 

I am wondering how many students will manage to do this over Term 2. 

Tomorrow we will commemorate Anzac Day with our Fields of Remembrance ceremony and two of our students will also go with Ms Noakes our Deputy Principal to the re- opening of the Mt Roskill War Memorial and the unveiling of the Roll of Honour.

What a wonderful start to the year. I am so proud of all of the teaching and learning that has been happening at our school. It has been so busy that I have not managed to share anything on this blog lately.
Our digital classrooms have started well and on Tuesday we held the first of our parent workshops for 2015. This workshop focused on digital learning and it was great to see parents and their children sharing the learning that has happened so far this year.

The discussions focused on our Kawa of Care that is used across all of the schools in the Ako Hiko cluster and cybersmart practices. Thanks to Ms Haydon for leading this workshop.

Collaborative Project

The Digital Divide website has finally gone out in a draft form to fellow students completing the Foundations of e-learning paper at Massey University. I am looking forward to receiving feedback on this. The group - Kathryn, Leigh and myself have worked exceptionally hard on this. There is actually so much information that pertains to this issue within the local NZ context. Should be able to share with all when we have finalised it all.

I am so enjoying this work and it really does impact on the work that I am doing with Ako Hiko.
